When it comes to social media, and it is associated with you, try to express your true interests and self as best as you can. This not only helps you connect with people who have the same interests as you, but it will help you break conforming to the redundant norm. You need to stop focusing on likes and posting what you enjoy.
I get excited when people tell me I'm exactly how I portray myself on my social platforms, but I haven't always been like that. I used to focus on likes and what others wanted to see. However, the longer I have been on social media, the less I cared about likes and follows and more on the joy my posts bring me.
The being said, I have found that the less I cared about what I posted and the more I experimented with what I truly enjoyed, the more likes I received. I mean, think about it. Who wants to see the same images of girls trying to look like Kim Kardashian (not including teenage boys)? Or guys posting that they're at the gym? Social media and selfies are tools for creativity, not to become a norm following zombie.
